Gotta have toast!
These don't last forever: depending on usage will probably need replacing every 2-3 years However, they're cheap enough, I've had a number of them over the years and find them very good. The trick is to turn your stove down very low and be patient!
Single slice toaster
I got a couple of these some time ago. Even taking into account they only do one slice at a time, they're better than the pyramid type of toaster which doesn't do 4 slices very well at all.
I've used these on top of various cookers and the toast is done quicker and more even than under the grill on my double burner.
Beezer toaster
Bought this for a Campervan road trip and it was great, much better than the other four sided toasters used over a gas ring. It toasts quickly but found best results over a medium heat and turning the bread regularly to prevent burning. Would recommend- was delighted to get the last one in the shop but would suggest reserving online before travelling to the shore!
You want toast?
Having tried almost every type of thing to produce a decent slice of toast whilst camping this is the best.
This is my opinion, others may disagree but I've used this flat diffused toaster for many years....Yes, the same one. It produces evenly toasted bread in seconds.....don't plonk your bread on it and walk away. It is so fast and easy to use.
It's so small and light that it's good for backpacking too for use on a Trangia or the like.

Tried the 4-slice toaster, but excessive heat below the plate was not good for the vitreous enamel cooker grid. This 1-slice toaster works well, for a time. First retired when clip went wrong. Current one has a hole in the wire gauze, which grows progressively. Put hole over a cross in cooker grid, and rotate each slice 4 times, then turn and repeat. Next time at GO will get a new one.
