Men's Footwear Size Guide

Measuring tips

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.

Feet: Use a ruler or tape measure to measure your foot (from the heel to the tip of your longest toe) Be sure to measure both feet. Many people have feet of different sizes. Fit to the larger of the two.

Remember, feet can expand over a quarter size during a full day's walk so ensure you get the right fit.

Freedom Trail Walking Boot

Fantastic value for money. These are comfortable and cheap. I wouldn't expect them to be waterproof so wear waterproof socks. The only downside is that the sole is not particularly grippy; I've had to be careful aftert he recent wet weather.

They are good value

I'm quite sure some people spend £22 and expect the world. I've bought these boots recently I've been twice to the Peak District in them. First trip 3hr walk, 2nd trip 5-6 mile great ridge - mam tor. There a solid boot, nice ankle support didn't need breaking in, no blisters. Great boot if your just thinking of getting into walking and don't want to invest to much. They are £22 don't expect all the bells and whistles.

Disappointing

I've managed to discover a boot which is both as waterproof as flannel, with the breathability of a coffin. It is sometimes difficult to work out whether my socks are wet from sweaty feet, or whether the mildly damp weather has turned the boots into a pair of kettles. Sole very thin, so painful to walk on stony ground. The only saving grace is that they are relatively wide fitting, so give my misshapen toes plenty of room. Overall, I would avoid these boots.

Hooks break easily

I bought 2 pairs of these for my children. They found them comfy and they looked good quality. However the top hook broke on one pair the first weekend of wearing so I had to swap for a new pair. A few months later the same has happened on the other pair. I'm going to take these back as I think they should last longer so hopefully will get a replacement pair. If I knew what I know now, I wouldn't have bought these as I don't think they are good quality. For them both to have the same fault and be broken by children pottering round a scout camp is not acceptable really.

Not worth the money

Ok, so these are cheap and in this case you get what you pay for.
Not waterproof and poor soles.
The soles are paper thin and you can feel every little stone you stand on,
The heels have developed little holes in them such as i can hear a wheezing from them with every step.
Have walked only about 75 miles in these with my dog ( grass fields and foot paths) so they have been by no means been used and abused,
Save you money and buy something else

Seriously comfortable value for money

Every one has a pair of cheap and cheerful boots for knocking about in and then some seriously good ones for the real stuff. My old 'adventure boots' had died and all I needed was a pair of these for general use.

To check what they were like, I've worn them on a couple of trips over the Yorkshire Dales of ten to fifteen miles and am amazed to say that they are more comfortable than my seriously expensive boots that I've had for a goodly time.

So, if you want something that has 'the right name' on them, then these are not for you. If you want some that just do the job. Give them a try - and think of the money you'll have saved.

Not bad for the price

I purchased these to do some mild trail walking, camping and walking the dog.
I wore these the day after buying them when taking the dog to the beach. It started as a foggy day but turned out warm (20c) as the day went on. In total I wore them about 8 hours and they were great. No issues with blisters, grip was good over seaweed covered rocks, I never felt as though I had to tread carefully. Ankle support was good and after 8 hours or so wearing them I never felt as though I needed to take them off due to hot feet. Sure, my socks were very mildly damp but nothing major and no raw feet.

For the price they are great if you are using them for not too strenuous walking/mild trail walking.
