I asked for this as a birthday present after seeing all these positive reviews. My only reservation being a lot of the reviews focussed on the carp/commercial side of things and I wanted a tip rod for stalking Chub on a small river. Glad to report on first try yesterday, I fished it at 8ft with the 3oz tip and had two nice chub of 3 and 4lb respectively. Lovely pull through on the tip using the link ledger set up, and the rod just handled both fish, in a considerable flow, with absolute ease. Can’t wait to try it out in other configurations as the weather heats up. Buy this rod, there’s no way you can regret it.

I've used this rod for over a year now and have to say it does manage big fish really well (19lb carp). I have mainly used it as the 10ft feeder, has a great feel when playing fish and so much more powerful than it looks.
You can cast a 2oz led 100yds with ease, to be honest i was suprised that it managed this.
If you want a rod that is lighter than a traditional carp rod but is more than capable of landing big fish than i would definitely recommend.

I bought this rod to replace the 10' shakespear omni match that our 11 year old uses when we go fishing. I wanted a rod that was still short enough to be manageable by said 11 year old but also man enough for me to use as a second carp/general ledger/feeder rod on commercial waters with fish carp in the 5-15 lbs sort of range (which the omni isn't upto).

This rod does the job perfectly, overall I'd compare the overall stiffness to mid power avon/barbel type rod but with a progressive(stiffer base/mid section and a softer tip) rather than a through action. Given this you probably wouldn't want to use it for very light line work say less than 3 or 4 lbs or so.

On its first outing I had a bunch of bream and carp ranging up to a very lively 12lb common which it handled with very much an "is that all youve got" attitude.

Cracking little rod, bought as a light feeder for less than half the price of anything similar.packs down well and great for tight little pegs, did have to buy a light tip, but just a few quid off the bay, so no problem

After being sceptical about how well a 40 quid rod would perform I only took mine "carping" for the 1st time last week despite owning it (and being more than happy with it for tench, bream etc) for around 2-3 years. It performed unbelievably well landing one fish after another upto a superb CONFIRMED 22lb mirror. Im so pleased with the way it coped with decent sized fish that im on here today to order myself a new one to use specifically as a feeder rod as for the money I dont think this rod can be beaten as either a feeder or float rod. Ive used it almost everywhere ive fished and now ive had a few decent carp on it can safely say this rod can cope with pretty much anything a commercial in the uk can throw at it. Great work guys.

I think this is a cracking rod for the money, with the three additional tips and the Avon section it covers all areas for commercial works. The extension piece comes in very handy as well. First time buying one of these types of rods but the build quality is great for the price and it feels great to use

Brilliant little rod, got two of these and cover me for everything. Should cost a lot more, great balance

Used the rod a few times now.handles double figure fish well yet to hook a big one. But the way it handles should easily be strong enough. Only downside cannot find 1oz tip to fit,anywhere to fish the bomb in the winter.
